The volume on the Tv incrreases during commercials. Who/what controls the volume for commercials? The stations or the cable company? I know about volume smoothing is that the problem?? Jim

It's a problem! Think of the battery energy wasted when all the people pick up the remote during commercials.

My next TV will have volume stabilization.

All the TV I watch have very few commercials, granted it's PBS but I just can't seem to get my head down low enough to watch commercial TV, if one wants something for Nothing one must put up with the consequences. I invested with a 9 feet Satellite dish to roam the skies, ( a lot of interesting stuff out there ) Now the Digital stuff is coming in on regular TV antenna, instead of one analog channel there's 4 and 5 channels digital ( Perfect Picture ) on the same TV station. ( whatever is going to happen next? ) ( TV Pizza Delivery? I don't doubt it )

DJW - Proly not yet at beaming a pizza. However, watch the patttern on the screen closely. Listen to the subliminal message. You will think you had a pizza. Oh by the way, they'll whack your credit card for it too.

There's two that are too loud, too frequent and way too annoying.

The voice of that kid at the drive up window getting splooged by "Sludge" yelling for a burger & fries makes me cringe.

His cohort standing in the driveway asking why he should worry about sludge. My remote trigger finger twitches just thinking about it.

The whine of the schnook "singing" about the free credit report in the seafood restaurant... whoever dreamed up these ads should be shot.

But I will say the song in the Geico Caveman Airport commercial is kinda catchy. . we crank up the volume, change the lyrics, and my 7yo sings to the dog. Go Figure/

ACoyle, with the digital stuff some stations use it at times, but not to be relied just yet. Our over the air has never been very reliable therefore the Satellite dish (the free type, but can receive paid programming), but the digital so powerful and appears flawless, but at times seem they are still experimenting with it, picture breaking up stuff.

I think they do it because they realize alot of people get up and do there business during commercials. that way you can hear it in the kitchen, etc.

Man, I hate that guy Billy Mays. He has to yell about everything!

OXYCLEAN! RUBBER SCRUBBERS! FLOOR POLISH!

And all that other crap he sells.

What's wrong with him? Is he deaf? #@$%!

Signal73, that's a good one, beats, "Don't touch that dial!". My mother would say, "He has a Bell on every Tooth".
