Let's test our creative skills for a one-year complimentary TDR renewal and TDR "Got Diesel?" T-Shirt. Let's create the next classic holiday poem. Best line wins. I'll start it:

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the truck . . .

Need I say, keep it clean?

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the truck, no check engine light was flashing now thats good luck.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the truck

All the fluids were frozen, the injectors were stuck,

The grid heaters were chilled and the turbo stone-cold,

This weather was frightening if I may be so bold,

The snow it was piled sky-high on the hood,

As I tossed to the fire a new stack of wood,

My good wife and I settled in for some rest

But twas not long-lived and perhaps for the best

“What’s that!” I declared with the metal-grinding roar

And no sooner than said was a knock at the door,

I arose from my chair soon to be slumber’s bed

And there on the porch was the big man in red!

“I’m stuck” did he speak, “can you give me a pull?”

I said I may be stupid but I ain’t no fool

So I rushed to the truck as I buttoned my flap

I opened the door and pulled out my strap

One move and the key was set firm with no strife

With a quick turn that Cummins it did spring to life!

The rattle and roar of that powerful six

The hot blast of smoke shaking candy cane sticks

The reindeer were nervous and in awe of such might

But they knew that this Cummins would be saving their night

I eased in the clutch and I put her in gear

The T-case in low as I backed her in near

One end on the hitch and the other to sleigh

The tow strap was set as the snow wiped away

He cried out “I’m not sure, cause that old sleigh is heavy

but I trust you, cause I see you’re not driving a Chevy”

I gave her some fuel and four tires did spin

Then they grabbed with the strength of the truck I was in

Ol’ Dodge started smoking and pulling so hard

That I ended up halfway ‘cross my neighbor’s yard

As I backed off the fuel and gave out a shout

I heard him say “No Ford could have pulled my sleigh out!”

He thanked me profusely and the reindeer did bow

To the O’l Mighty Cummins, idling now

For they knew in their hearts that without this fueled might

That there would be no Christmas this shivering night

He climbed in his seat and with a wave of his hand

Those reindeer lurched forward across the snowed land

“I thank you again my dear new-found friend

For your hand and your heart kept this night from an end

And later this eve, sitting back in my lodge

I’ll be thanking the Lord, that you bought a Dodge!”

Wow... GOOD one... that sure was a quick contest... can't really see anyone being able to or even wanting to top your entry... have you ever thought of a career as a rapper?? :-laf:-laf

Man, 3 hours and 7 minutes. I think that's the shortest contest ever on the TDR! :-laf Just awesome!

I bet his day job is song writer for Garth Brooks. ;)

Allnew2me's poem was as good as it gets,

but i still want my chance at a TDR subscrip.

for it Twas the night before Christmas and all through the truck,

the cummins had all the chevy boys down on their luck.

The weather was cold, the ford wouldn't start,

hanging on the mantle, was my latest dyno chart.

The turbo was nestled all snug by the motor

while visons of a twin had my thoughts taken over.

With mama in her TDR t-shirt, and I in my cummins cap,

i knew that my vp44 wire was tapped.

i heard a loud rumble out by the road,

it was santa himself pulling a mighty big load.

he traded his reindeer this year but with santa's good luck

cash for clunkers allowed him to get a new truck.

his shiney new dodge had a present for me,

it was a renewed tdr subscription and a "Got Diesel" T!

Oh Gentlemen, Good Gentlemen

Such kindly words you've given

Yet I am but a simple man

Just working for a living

I pen no songs for superstars

My words rarely hold merit

I simply took my chances bold

To grasp the offered carrot

But lest we be forgetful

In thinking this be done

As stated by Miss Robin

We've only just begun

So grasp thy quill and parchment all

And put forth creative wit

Knowing that with each new post

We all shall benefit

For when the nog doth freely flow

And the Christmas goose is fattened

The final word shall be set forth

By the lovely Mrs. Patton

So good men young and good men old

All good men near and far

Bask in this joyous season

Merry Christmas TDR!!

Twas the night before christmas and In my garage

lay a beast of pure fury yet still a mirrage

The engine full blown with twin turbos of Glory

beats other trucks down, with descriptions to gory

All body lines smoothe, and lenses blacked out

this truck is bad ***, and thats with no doubt

New mats on the floor, and cover on Dash

if my help were needed Id be ther in a flash

new tires, new rims, 4. 10 gears in the rear

all these parts be installed by the end of the year

Im rippin and ridin while Towing my boat

I try to be moddest but its hard not to gloat

fresh Raptor 150, edge Comp in a box

come be my passenger Ill knock off your socks.

They keys in my hand all balled in a fist

Dear Santa this is, my christmas wish list.

Merry Christmas!!!

Twas still the same night before Christmas!

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the truck

Coursed the joy of that night getting Santa unstuck

I shut down Ol' Dodge amidst my foolish grinning

And she settled down quiet with the turbo still spinning

I was bursting with pride and the world seemed just right

So I stood there alone nigh enjoying the night

Oh, but that frigid night air did soon challenge my will

For sweet lament should be mine if I froze to the grill

So I stomped both my boots loosing snow from my feet

Swung open home's door and walked into sweet heat

Now my dear wife she shares neither worry nor care

But she spoke “Are you nuts, it's below freezing out there?”

“Pray tell, what's the cause of that din and distraction?”

Oh nothing, just a car disputing its traction

I fell into my chair taking heat from the fire

As my wife bade “Goodnight dear, I'm going to retire”

Then the room fairly flooded with such flickering light

As to cause one to doubt the events of that night

But swear I they're as real as the glowing moon knows

I'll gladly offer as proof my still-frozen toes

Content that I certainly wasn't losing my mind

I flirted with slumber but awoke startled to find

That the tree aromatic fresh-cut from this land

Swayed ever so slightly, sat askew in its stand!

Upon closer inspection I glanced a strange paper

Twas folded up thrice and made out to me

“What's this?” pondered I, “Who could this be from?”

I proceeded to have a much closer look-see

Of a hand I knew not so I opened it next

And then read all these words penned in glorious text

“My dear friend you have helped me in my merry task

In such manner quite hard for any stranger to ask”

“In return for your kindness this snowy cold night

I've made effort that I'll cause in the future no fright”

“For the next time may find that it's inopportune

Hence my promise that I'll not be bothering soon”

Reading on but held out at a comfortable distance

The final few lines of his note in my hand

“For the one on whose door that was knocked with persistence”

Pro-Fab, great poem, short, sweet and well done! That first line is wonderful. I know that in my mind my truck has a lot more parts on it than it actually does! Thanks for the congrats but this is far from over. We have the month to go and I would hope others will contribute.

Allnew 2 me, you sling words like the rest of us sling wrenches. :-laf:-laf ( and yes, that was meant as a complement) Randy
