Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Tweaked the pump boost went from 32 to 38

I dunno which adjustment made the difference.



1)Started by moving the banks stinger plate forward.

2) AFC housing forward.

3)Star wheel forward.

Yee Haa!

At this point it seems like the boost was still around 34 lbs max.



4)Turned governor springs in 3/4 turn (3 clicks) re-adjusted idle)

5)Adjusted the secret governor lever. (it just touches the bottom of the plate and does not stick. It was missing the bottom by 1/16 " before I raised it. )

Today it has lots of black fog and 38lbs boost.

The difference in power is amazing!

I have made no adjustments to the waste gate. Why is the boost up?





When I get my tax money back I'll be putting in a new trans so I can get this power to the ground.



My right foot is in charge of the Giant Black Fog nozzle.

well now all u have to do is get the hx 35 to 50 pounds of boost and u'll really say yeppe.

boost is up because the wastegate orifice isn't large enough to allow enough exhaust gas to bypass the turbine, so the turbo twists harder due to the increased exhaust volume

Im glad that Im not the only one running 50 lbs of boost on a stock HX 35. Its kinda scarey.

ooops, sorry, thats what i used to run and what my dad'd truck ran before both turbos came apart and both trucks heads had over 20 cracks, ... keep on trucking man, while u can, lol.
