Anyone know the best deal on PYROMETER?

Is there a formula to calculate the air exit temps for a twin turbo setup? I’ve installed a probe in my air horn and I’m going to put another one in the secondary outlet elbow this weekend so I can get an idea of the intercooler efficiency.

I’m running an HY35/BHT3E. I realize I’m under fueled now but with only the Lucas injectors (fuel pump stock), aFe 4-1/2” intake and 4” exhaust I can hit 40psi pretty easy, maybe more but I’m going pretty fast by then so I’ve been backing out of it. With a sustained 30psi run I’ve only hit air intake temps at the horn of 150 (ambient being 75). Seems kind of low to me but I have checked the thermocouple and it is accurate +- 1, reaction time is 1-2 seconds.

Thanks,

Jay

something I figured up a while back.

With both turbos running at a PR of 2. 36, peak boost will be 67 psi!

secondary turbo discharge temperature would be 600F assuming 100F primary inlet temp, overall efficiency of 70%, and one ATM inlet pressure.

If I drop seccondary inlet temp to 60F Boost temp drops to 524F

That temperature seems high, but it really is not... . if I were just running a single turbo... . well, it would be impossible now wouldn't it.

Hey thanks DF and Jim. It's a whole different animal with the twins even being under fueled.

Jim- what are you using to monitor air temps?
