Ok... . I know I need a lot of upgrades, including fire ringing and a built transmission, but I want to end up with 500 to 550 horsepower and would like to be able to tow my trailer over the mountains without EGT's getting out of control. Depending on which dealer you talk to, theirs is the best. I would like to hear from people that are not selling the things. What will work best for my situation, including durability and mileage.

I think at that HP level, the BD twins would be fine, clean kit, fast spool, 50-55lbs of boost and should support around 600hp! Relentless diesel has their kit to which has been proven to work very well too!

Both kits at this boost level all you would need to do is install studs and youll be fine!

there are alot of kits out there, Industial injection also has a nice towing kit, more money but its pretty sweet but its geared toward a bit more HP than your your target level now, Olee Poole is another one!

WE installed fuel upgrades and a single from htt pushing over 60 psi. Have over 20,000 with just head studs and its fine so far.

Is anyone running Industrial Injection Phatshaft twins?? PDI is only about 120 miles from Vegas and I would like to give them some business. I have heard good customer service from them.

Has anyone one ever used Diesel Power Source's(ebay) twins? Thay look good and are priced better than most. They used to advertiser on here.

Yes... there's a pretty extensive thread on DTR if I remember correctly.

Nathan Wright at MPI has some of the best kits as well. The stocker/S400 would probably be great for the 500 h. p. range.

Many have good things to say about the BD towing twins as well.

As others have said, I don't think the trouble of o-rings/fire rings/etc would be necessarily beneficial at only 500 h. p. and 50 - 60 psi. The OEM MLS gasket is usually good to 75 psi or so with the regular 12mm ARP studs... of course this is all somewhat subjective, as the deck/head flatness has an effect, as well as spraying, timing, etc. If you're overly cautious, I'd think bottom tapping and using the ARP 625s with the stock gasket may be best.

Eric - thanks.

You must have posted as I was writing my previous post becuase I didn't see yours until after I posted mine. Sorry about that.

I run North West customs Twin turbo kit. It is essentially the II towing twins. They have really well spool-up. The same if not faster than stock. Keeps the egt's fairly in check. When i have the tst on 4x2 and smarty on 4 mild tqm ez on lvl 3.

A good choice IMO

I run the II twins and like the proformance and low egt's. They are a pain to install because they don't give you any instructions, but with help from the board I got them in. The only issue I am having is that I can not keep the manifold connection tight. I am going to see if I can get locking fasseners from Stage1.

Vaughn do you have any information on the Peak twins? I've been on their website and haven't found anything about them. Also when did Dynomite start to do twins?

Mmmm looks like Peak Diesel is selling BD and ATS systems, I would think Piers (Peak) would have his own set. . . might call Peak Turbos and Housings

I am pretty sure Dynomite installs twins kits too, likely BD or someone else's, but to be sure the only way to find out is contact them Dynomite Diesel - Turbos
One of the nicest-driving 12-valve trucks I've driven with twins was one Lenny from Dynomite had a hand in setting up.

I do know that Lenny is working with a bunch of Turbonetic's stuff and has a custom set of twins on his 06 megacab and it wouldn't suprise me if there are some on the 12 valve that he stuffed into an 02:-laf

Thanks for everyones responses... but I guess it just means a little more research for me. As far as head studs go... . are they are the same... . as far as I remember I have only seen one brand out there... are there others?
