TWINS and Boost Questions for ya'll with manuals

I have a 6er and when shifting I loose most of my boost. So my question is for those of you who have twins and a manual. How much boost can you make and when you shift how much do you loose. Right now I can make 43-45 psi but when I shift its down to around 20 maybe less depending on how quick I can get er in gear. Reason I ask is I got beat by an auto last night in a quick between the stop light boulevard race. I beat him out of the gate but I have to shift to 3rd and before I can get 4th he's a 1/2 or more truck length ahead. I know I'd take him in the 1/4 but thats kind of hard to find in town. So if I had twins and could make 70-80 psi how much would I loose when shifting or with twins do you not loose too much.

Your gonna lose boost when you stop pouring the coal to shift no matter what. Free rev the engine with no load once and see what your boost is.

a bypass/blow off valve [not a poppit relief valve] can help you build the boost up quicker between shifts... it dumps the intake pressure to atmosphere helping to keep the turbos spooled up. . less shaft speed drop between shifts, the quicker the boost can build [also prevents turbo bark]
