2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Two gauge install questions...

Two quick questions on the gauge install:



1. Where is the easiest place to tap for 12V power on the dimmer circuit for the gauge lights?



2. I was putting a Painless aux circ block in and was using the fuse tap on the factory block for the ignition on portion. When I got the blade lined up it didn't want to re-insert into the factory fuse block. Anyone else run into this? What's the fix... just grinding on the blade a little? Also, anyone know which side is "hot" on the cigarette lighter fuse? I can borrow the tester but I thought I'd just see if anyone knew off the top of their head

you can get dimmer power from the headlight switch in the upper left hand corner of the dash, that's how I powered the lights in my pillar guages. the other ? I don't know.

Thanks! Did you remove the switch from the dash to tap it or do the wires run down to a more accessible place?
