Two New Problems

Today my cruise control died. Cruise indicator light illuminates, but truck won't hold its speed when set control is pressed. Also, my parking brake light now stays illuminated and won't turn off even if I pull on the brake by hand. Fuses are OK. Any suggestions from anyone experiencing the same problems?

Check the speed sensor on the rear axle that does the rear anti lock brakes, it controls those other functions also... ... Pete

My 2001. 5 Emergency brake was the cause of my light staying on. The only to get the light to shut off, was to press the pedal to the floor and release it fast and it would slam into stop. Then the light would go out. On the drivers side just behind the door on the outside of the frame you can make an adjustment to tighten up the e-brake cable.

You may also want to check the adjustment of the brake light switch off the brake pedal.

My cruise would not work.
I had a vacuum line off up near the firewall.
That solved it!
