Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) how much power???

:) I have a 2001. 5 2500 lwb quad auto 17,000 miles /(w 3;73 gear(yes 3;73) , 275's, EZ,BD T/C,/w valve body kit, BD brain /w PAC brake,6 gages, ram cold air, 4"exhst and just about everything in all the catalog's. OK! I think I am around 330 hp and who knows how much torque? probably 750 lb's or so. Never dinoed.

Question #1 I have noticed, when I am pulling my 10k lb 5er that some times after I go back into OD after a hill that the RPMs are not as low as before the hill until I really let off of the pedal and let it "catch up" so to speak. Whats slipping hear is it the T/C lock up not engaged yet, or are the clutches in the transmission slipping? If I let it slow down then start slowly back up to speed everything comes back ok. Temps are all ok. . less than 200F in the summer. Is this a normal thing or am I going to need to buy the aftermarket transmission of best choice? (what ever story I beleive, they are all the best!). The truck runs like a scalded dog empty and shifts fine. I was told not to buy the BD transmission yet until I had wore out the new stock one at the time of the T/C, valvebody installation. Comments?

Q)#2 what is a boost elbow? I know I'm letting my ignorance hang out here but please have mercy. Ha! Ha! Thanks guys.

A "boost elbow" is a brass elbow fitting that restricts flow of air to the wastegate, this replaces the stock

elbow fitting that is in the stock HX35.

The purpose of the elbow is to require more boost to make the wastegate open.

But... . Your truck has an HY35 that has a hardline instead of brass fitting and rubber hose like an HX35.

So a boost elbow is useless for your application.

What you need is whats called a "J" hook to restrict your wastegate or the . 22 shell method which some TDR members can enlighten you on.

I was told and took their advice that do the rebuild first before you smoke the transmission and get off a lot cheaper. I tried to find the . 22 method and couldnt, hopefully someone will chime in.
