I am getting ready to install new front leaf springs on my 92 W250 and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a source for some quality replacement American made u-bolts?

Thanks,

C. D. Hunter

You could go to your local spring shop and have them make you new u-bolts to your spec. They're inexpensive and even come with new nuts and washers.

Thanks for the replies.

It looks like I need (1) that is 4" X 8. 5" and (2) that are 3. 25" X 8. 5"

Can someone confirm the sizes and tell me what the diameter is?

Also, are Nyloc or steel locking nuts better in this application?

I think the size is 9/16, but MAY be 5/8. As long as you get the correct inner dimensions, and new nuts/ washers, it shouldnt matter. Heck, go for the 5/8. Add it to the long list of upgrades.

I finally got out there and measured the u-bolts and they are 9/16"

I like the 5/8" upgrade idea. :D
