I guess since the Dodge ones or whatever brand Dodge uses has no grease pathways through the ujoint and is solid it can hold more stress.

One word comes to mind... ..... expensive

I just had three new Dana/Spicer 1410 (size) U-joints installed in my driveshaft... along with a new Dana/Spicer center bearing. I chose to go with the non-greasable U-joints as they are stronger! Besides, with the patented Dana/Spicer triple lock seals at each bearing cup, the grease will stay in and contaminants will stay out. :D

I have had good luck with both types.....

I had a Brute Force joint on the rear shaft (rear joint) of my old GMC Sonoma - that puppy saw some pretty extreme shock loading and never failed.

Then again - all the joints on the dodge are greaseable and none of those have failed since I replaced them.

To each his own... .

Tom, I had my driveshaft work performed by Drive Line Service of Seattle. They are a Dana/Spicer authorized dealer (the others in the area are not. They use Dana/Spicer replacement parts exclusively.

I used to patronize Drivelines Northwest for many years (until about the late '80s. I finally discovered Drive Line Service of Seattle, really liked their service and higher level of expertise, and of course, their high quality parts.

Works for me. :D
