Hi everyone,

On a recent trip to California to visit my parents I noticed a

a vibration coming through the floor boards.

At a constant speed (75-80mph) it was barely noticeable, but on climbs it became worse.

I wasn't in 4 wheel drive so the rear drive shaft may be the

culprit.

My truck is reg cab long box so it does't have a 2 piece drive shaft

with a pillow block.

Last question if it turns out to be drive shaft related are there any recommendations on drive line repair shops in the Denver Co area?

Thanks Chuck

My truck did the same ting. I jacked mine up and put it in gear and looked underneith to see the transmission wiggling up and down. This was because of the rear most ujoint being froze up. I replaced them both and now its gone.

This was around 125k, factory joints.

I just changed out both front axle joints (w/ zerks!!!) because of the same problem (71 mph in 2WD shook like crazy). Since they spin all the time, I think it wears 'em out. Same thing happened to my '01 half ton at about 50k.

Sorry, no line on a local shop. I did all of 'em in my dirt driveway.

Driving up and down the hill to Evergreen at 75mph everyday tends to irritate 'em too.

There's Drive Train Industries at about 34th & Brighton Blvd. If you PM me, I'll give you a couple names of mechanic relatives of mine. One is at 49th & Lowell (Phillips 66) and another at Countywide Diesel in Commerce City (east of Freightliner). Craig
