Greetings all I am currently in the market for a e-brake, does anybody have any experience first hand or otherwise of U S Gears e-brake . Thanks in advance for the input.
Doc, that is what I have been running for 1 1/2 years. I took a Pac Brake off and installed US Gear. There is an improvement in braking. I don't know if it off sets the cost for those who do not use one very much.
I just bought and installed a US Gear brake a few months ago- very pleased with it. You may want to consider a 4" brake even if you're still running a 3" exhaust- in case you decide to upgrade in the future. Be sure to think about the installation plenty before you cut your exhaust- It's busy in the area it gets installed- you know, "measure twice- cut once"
I have a US Gear brake as well. I have the 4" model since I have an HX-40 turbo and 4" exhaust. It works great!
The thing I hate the most about it is the test cycle it wants to go through whenever you start the truck... if you don't press the button to disable it first. The engagement/disengagement sound is very noisy, and anybody within 200' will look and stare when they hear it.
I had one on the '93, it worked good but the control module went out twice. US Gear was cool about replacing it under warranty both times! By the way, If anyones control module goes out and they need one, i have one laying around here somewhere.
