My 2016 3500/Aisin (first auto transmission ever) has been relatively flawless so far, 106257K miles. Besides that quirky electrical stuff that I've been able to cure by DCing the batteries, I've already had to replace the EGR cooler (Did that myself/ No warranty coverage) and now I have the dreaded U010C; thanks for goodness I have Max Care! Only I have to wait until January 2022 before my locals dealer(s) can touch it.
Never thought I'd go backwards, but I'm on the hunt for a 3rd gen w/ a manual transmission now. My gut tells that my next expense is having to replace the DPF filters, and I will not pay for that.
5 Years ago, I couldn't justify spending the money to rebuild the engine/NV5600 on my 04.5 w/ 300K miles so I bought a new pickup instead. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
I can't afford to replace my pickups before the warranty runs out. As soon as the turbo/actuator is replaced in January, this 4th gen is going to be someone else's headache to deal with.
