I have an 06 2500 here that will not start. Owner said he just shut it off and five minutes later it would not start Cranks over fine but no attempt to run. Good rail pressure and shows cam and crank signals when cranking. Every module shows a u0168 code not communicating with vehicle security module. The red security light in the dash stays solid red with the key on. I checked another truck and the light comes on and goes out. I checked through the fuses in the TIPM and did not find anything blown. Does anyone know where the vehicle security module or wireless control module is located or how the power is supplied to it? I have unplugged the fan clutch and also removed the edge juice module that was on the truck and it made no difference. Thanks for any ideas.

Ok I unhooked the batteries for a couple minutes and touched the positive and negative ends together. Hooked them back up, turned the key on, red security light came on and went out and the truck fires right up now. Any thoughts? Not sure if it will be a good fix or if a problem will come back right away. I know it's an older truck for a dealer but I may call them to see if there are any updated flashes relating to this.

Are you sure those batteries are good? I haven't had your particular issue in my 06 but I have had some very strange electrical problems when the batteries were heading south, interior lights randomly didn't work, radio would sometimes make noise, transmission trouble codes...just a thought. It always turned over fine though so I never suspected the batteries. A year later on new batteries all that stuff has gone away, that was the only change I made. Good luck with it.
