After completing the upstream Nox sensor replacement today I cleared the 2201 code but saw a U059E code along with it. Tried searching that one on this forum and did not find a thread. Anyone know what that one is?
a 6 minute video on youtube. cheers! After completing the upstream Nox sensor replacement today I cleared the 2201 code but saw a U059E code along with it. Tried searching that one on this forum and did not find a thread. Anyone know what that one is?
funny - the older i get it seems almost everything is a pain in the a$%. hope the replacement dorman part works. cheers!BTW, the reason I mentioned the 2013/14 is that my truck has the sensor module behind the oil filter, perpendicular to the block. I had to remove the oil filter and remove the passenger side battery ground wire attached to the bracket and then remove the bottom bolt for the bracket so I could finally get to the bottom screw and nut on the sensor plate. The bottom bolt also has a stud built into it to hold another two wire harness and a nylon/plastic square fitting that slips over the stud. That little thing was a pia to get off. Finally used a door panel remover tool. The lower bolt requires a 15mm deep socket with a universal attached. The amount of tools, prior bars, screwdrivers, metric tools, etc. was ridiculous to do the job. Fortunately I had the front tire off ahead of time and the inner fender panel was already off. I decided on the Dorman replacement and hope that it will be as good as the MOPAR unit, which as it turns out, was not so good. Only 41K on this truck. I noticed the old sensor had a lot of soot around the nozzle but otherwise have no idea why these fail. And I do use the exhaust brake all the time but the location of this sensor is before the soot cleanup area. I sure wish the job would been as shown in the video. My Sept. built 2014 has the sensor with a tall metal heat shield on the elbow too.
To add to all this, I now have a new floor jack too. Found out my 3 ton jack was bleeding down when I first started the job. Had to pump it like crazy fast and then get a jack stand under the front frame. Found a AC Delco brand (maybe China but could not find that on the box) 3 1/2 ton at O'reily's that did the job nicely. Seems to be pretty good quality.
