I have a UBD 11 scan tool which does not work on my new 06 CTD. I don't want to spend $$$$$ for the starscan tool that I have seen advertised (even on EBAY) is there software and an adapter that I could get to utilize my laptop to do the job??

I'm curious too. I've read several older threads on scan tools and programs such as Alex Pepper's.

I plugged my older Innova OBD II scan tool into my '06 and only got a "err" message.

Anything new or more current?

I HAVE AN 06, THIS WHAT I HAVE http://www.autoxray.com/ MODEL 4000 VERY HAPPY READS RAIL PRESSURE ALSO AND MORE

Thanks Thurmon. I'm sending you a PM or e-mail.

Anyone else have any ideas? My old scan tool is an Innova 3100 and it serves to read codes on my '98. I've considerred upgrading to a Innova 3130 or Actron CP1945. They seem to be comparable scanners but I'm trying to figure out if they would work; be worthwhile; or if I would gain much.

I haven't yet had success getting the key on/key off method to work.

Yeap... . 2006 is CANBUS... not OBD II. Different reader and a bit more expensive.
