My wife has Spotify and wants to listen to "Her" music while riding in the truck. I bought a 3.5 mm cable to make the connection to her iPhone adapter. I assumed that the headphone out from the iPhone to the AUX port would be a simple line-in to the stereo. I'm getting nothing.

On a side note, the USB port beside the AUX port charges my iPhone and the CD player in the lower console works fine as well. I again assume that the AUX port, USB port and the CD player use the same harness.

I don't need this option but anything that doesn't work bugs the crap out of me.

What should I dig into to search the problem?

Have you tried the port in the center flip down console/ armrest?
Yes, it's the only one my truck has. I have it all apart now. I have the Media hub with the AUX and USB here on my desk. I was hoping to find a loose connection or something but no luck. It's all soldiered together on a PC board. I pulled the radio first looking for a loose connection.

Do you have another device you could try? The phrase "iPhone adapter" worries me.....I assume that you have a 7 or newer??

Those seem a little problematic at best....

The adapter is a iPhone part. There is no headphone jack on an iPhone 7 so it comes with an adapter to plug the ear buds into. Our phones both play through the adapter into the ear buds so there's sound coming out the through the wire. It's just not making it to the radio.

I'm with ya. My wife has a 7 and I had heard that the adapter was problematic.

I would still go find something else for a device that you could test that aux in with, you could even have a defective Aux Cable....
