Uconnect/bluetooth Phone System

This is one of the options I really wanted but was unable to get it. The dealer is saying I can get it installed for about $400. 00, but it is not like the factory one that is in the rearview mirror.



Does anyone have this and what do you think of it? If you have it, is it the factory installed one or the dealer installed one? Also if it is the dealer installed on, where did they place the speaker?

I have this as an added option. The only visible item is the little (1"x3") controller mounted on the dash next to the radio. The mic was mounted up above the mirror and the sound comes through the radio speakers. When you make or receive a call it mutes the radio if its on. Calls will still come over the radio speaker even if the radio is off.

You have to program the "blue tooth" with the no's that you want to call separately from the phone memory. Other than that I love it. Just scares the bejabbers out of my wife when I get a call.

When you say installed for $400. 00 is that the installation labor or did that include the cost of the u-connect which has a list of around $299. 00? I wonder if you can order the factory rear view mirror that has the speaker in it?

When I say $400. 00, this would include the equipment and the installation. The dealer told me 299. 00 for the equipment and 65. 00 for the install. So I figured with tax and all it will be basically 400. 00.



As far as the rearview mirror, they don't show this as a option when getting the UCONNECT as a dealer installed option, but only as a replacement part.

My install was the $299 and labor was a special for $40. The mirror only has the microphone, no speaker. The speakers are the radio speakers. The microphone is a small 3/4" X 1" black oval that mounts up next to the mirror stem.

Control went in the overhead, less cludder. This was the intended OEM location.
