Stuck near Oakland, CA
My engine runs great 2006 oct manufacturer date JO8E - TE (was told it’s the same as a Hino engine for certain years but says Nissan on it) ?? // and

I took off the cold side of the turbo to inspect the fins and although a little dirty has no play and spins freely.

The engine has clean oil and no leaking, smoking, but after driving for a few minutes and hitting higher speeds a check engine light pops on and I am limited to about 40 mph. Before it trips the engine light the turbo sounds fine and accelerates well.

Sometimes I can go 50-60mph but not for long. What should I do first?

I tried to read the engine light code and even paid a “diesel mechanic with 25 years experience” came and his computer died and even when I charged it for 20 minutes for him and brought it back he was having more problems. So basically he was no help.

anyone any experience with these UD engines or Hino ?

my thought is either the actuator is bad or needs to be recalibrated or the wastegate is stuck or having a hard time -

Where can I get the UD codes read near Oakland, CA or what should I do I’m stuck in California with a tow truck and need to get back to Minnesota I don’t live here and I’m having a hell of a time getting any help on this until I can get back and buy the UD scanner and information shipped to my house.
