I have the REAL nice Smarty Touch. :) My quest is about buying UDC tuning through Coffmen Customs. I hear UDC is good and Coffmen knows what they are doing. How much of a benifit will this have for me? $600 is $600..... :(

I have stock inj. /DIY CAI/ exh./ moded stock turbo/ etc... mild build.

I now run sw5/ tq-2/ tm-1/ rail-2/ pod-99/ = snappy truck with tq @2 ;)

MPG & smooth low smoke power is what i want! ;) [i really dont have the time to dig into udc myself {i would luv to!}]
THANKS, folks!!

ps. maybe diy udc isnt hard to figure out??

With stock parts the box Smarty tunes work pretty well. Could probably gain some with custom tuning but don't expect a quick pay back, it won't be a dramatic change.

With larger injectors, turbo, etc, then it is well worth the investment if you don't want to tackle it yourself.

When i need to change inj. i prob will go with 50~ hp ones and i do have a moded stock turbo.
So my question is,... how much understanding is needed to write UDC myself? I'm not a dummie but my computer expierence is limited.
I could see myself 'wasting' a lot of time here...... ;)
Thanks!!

7 and 9 not much but its all top end it seems, the low and mid doesn't feel different. 5 is definatly a little less but works well for towing so far.

I tested and wasn't able to pull down my rail pressure at all with sw9 as most say they have problems with. I haven't had a very big load behind me either though.

I normally run 7 or 9, depending on my mood lol. Once i have the headstuds in and turn up the boost a little things may be different, i am limited to 30psi right now.

I second this. My Smarty Jr was fine until I got BBi injectors - then I could not keep the EGTs under control using the JR. I bought a "Sr" and UDC dongle from Coffman and have been working with John (AH64ID) for the tune and so far it has been awesome.
