I just installed a Practical Solutions Metal Pulley tonight!!!

I Bought it at the same time I ordered their boost Module /elbow kit. .

At first I was QUITE skeptical. . But the price was LOW. . and the stock PLASTIC pulley did seem CHEESY on such an industrial quality engine as the Cummins. .

It also gave me a reason to put a fresh belt on. . (BTW at 40,000 miles the stock belt was SHOT!!!!)

Removing the tension unit and replacing the plastic pullley with the WIDER METAL Pulley took all of 15 Minutes.

If you were to hold the Stock Plastic Pulley next to the new Metal one...
I KNOW WHICH ONE WOULD BE INSTALLED AND WHICH ONE WOULD GO INTO THE DUMPSTER!!!

Here we go and spend $4,500 for the Cummins Option on our trucks... and Dodge saves all of $5. 00 on the Plastic Pulley!!!!

For the person who DEMANDS Only the BEST for their RAM... It's a No Brainer!!!!

I HADDAHAVIT... . !!!!

Larry

Larry,
do the folks where you got the pulley have a web site, so as we's can check it out??
Wonder what the guys on the space shuttle or an F-18 Fighter would say about plastic parts??HHmmmmmm

I know..... but were not talking CARBON FIBER HERE!!!!

This is Cheap Injection Molded Plastic were talking about...

This metal pulley was found (As a stock part) for FLEET USE CUMMINS ISB'S...

The metal version is what you'd get if you were to buy a BOX Truck with a Cummins ISB in it...
(You'd also get a NICE ALISON transmission BUT THAT'S A DIFFERANT RANT!!!!!!!)

As a great man once said...
"You's pays your money. . and you's take your chances"

If nothing else was accomplished. . I changed My Belt... . #ad

(No BS. . 40,000 on the stocker and it was GONE!!! Cracked to hell and gone)

CHECK THOSE BELTS!!!!!

Larry

Boy these DC guys really have short arms and deep pockets, eh? I'll bet if it cost a nickel to crap they would vomit!

SO far I've got silent shut downs.

The stock belt was hard and brittle.

I'm sure that fact helps the belt to slip at shut down.

I've gotta admit. . when I've shut down in the past I was always embarrased #ad
when that "SKREETHCCCC" happend...

TDR should simply issue us a passel (Southern for "parcel" or "a bunch of... ") bumper stickers...
"I LOVE THE SQUEAK!"
"Have you been BOMB-ed lately?"
"got torque?"
"if it's too loud, you're too old"
"smoke and thunder--honk for free sample"

----there's no need to be embarrassed at the belt-bark-- the truck you rattled up in already has a "distinctive" sound, and should not just "die quietly" !!
still need the web address for that place that makes that thing for that purpose #ad
