So, i'm driving up a hill and movement catches my eye. Drips are coming out of the passenger footwell intake vent of the AC box. :eek:

When I finally stop I check my carpet. Yup. VERY wet.

It has been very humid here and I have been running the AC a lot. I thought at first the drain tube was plugged. So I parked on a hill nose down, and looked underneath. Pretty slow drips.

SO next I pulled off the inspection cover. For sure some liquid but not a pool. :confused:

Would a slow drain indicate a partial plug? Maybe can't drain fast enough to drain the water so it is overflowing? Does that make sense to anyone?

Thoughts?

And for what it is worth, I am pretty sure I saw water emitting from the passenger side rocker this morning by the running board. I crawled underneath and the truck is so dang oil coated under there I could not tell where it was from, but would that make sense it would drain down into the passenger floor, then start filling the rocker?

If so, good way to rust them out! :{

Robert

P. S. I park indoors and it was not in the rain. ;)

Is it water or antifreeze? If the heater core leaks I am not sure if it will drain from the AC drain.

Nick

No. Rebuilt heater box a year ago.

And roof lights don't leak.

But I did find the issue!

Little rubber drain boot on front of heater box was plugged. :(

Backed up all water into cab. And let me tell you. A lot of water. Soaking up towels of it. It's this running into rockers by way of scuff plate/sill plate screw holes. Arg. What a mess.

Next time pull off the road and find an oak tree. Your carpet will stay drier :-laf:-laf:-laf

:-laf No, I was being serious... . There are bugs down here that build little nests in the lines... you can't leave the gladhands open on your trailers or you'll be spending hours pulling lines off to blow them out!!! They're kinda like a mud-dauber, but hit the small holes, like the unused block holes on the side of engines... . interesting the next time you start it and hear a pop when they get hot and explode!!! :D

Yep, I know about them too. They were bad at our place in Denton County. A real nuisance. I haven't seen any evidence of their "work" since we moved to Titus County over 6 years ago... just one more reason we're happy to be away from the DFW area. :D

What about cowling cracks ?

No, I am sure it was the AC as per above! LOL

Sorry! Not use to you being serious! :-laf

No, in my case it was peeling paint, dirt and grease mixed together, and a small leaf. #@$%!

Oh, yeah, well, I guess I should notify you when I'm being serious..... It doesn't happen too often, so don't worry about it!! I only mentioned it as I had the same thing happen on several customer's trucks last year. Funny, it only happens every now and then, and then it happened to several. The little bugs made nests in the drain tubes over the weekend!! And you've witnessed what happens!! They get my tractor's drain tubes every year. I just start the year by cleaning them out. Where I can, I clamp a piece of screen over the end of the tube to keep them out. On trailers, when I unhook I wrap the gladhands with electrical tape to keep the little Obummers out.

Peeling paint?!?!? :eek: That's not funny right there... ... :{
