I have saw that on the "600"s i have sold that dodge has put back the under hood mat / sound deadener

does anyone know the part number?

I have looked and looked, but to no avail...

I would like to have one if i can get one, I think it would keep the ticks to a minimum

Geno's Garage Cat#LM-0. 5036548734A for $42. 00. Couldn't find it on their web site, may be there. (800) 755-1715. It is on my want list. Amsoil man had pictures of his install in his gallery.

i answered my own question, I had to hold on the dealer parts line for an hour though,

Here it is:

Part # 55365043-AA --- diesel only hood silencer

part # 6504135 --- retainer clips

I have already ordered mine, $54, but I think i will like it

Only 3 in the us, (in milwaulke, actually)

I'd like to maybe stay away from the factory piece. It's really a dust and dirt collector. I'd like to maybe put a fatmat on the hood or something of that nature that isn't cloth type... .

I thought it was odd that my 95 gasser had the pad and my 03 burner did not. Friend pulled up with his new 04. 5 and saw the new pad. Next day, call 2 dealers and they were both stumped. Knew exactly what I wanted... . but could not find it. The yearly cost f the TDR had already paid for it 4 times over with info alone!!!!

Thanks for the info.

Does the under hood silencer really make a diffenence? How many of the retianer clips are required?

Tomeygun,

Thanks for the numbers parts guys at the dealership have ordered the silencer and they already stock the clips for other vehicles.

From the pictures I saw in Geno's catalog it appeared theirs had a silver foil surface which looks sharp and should be easy to clean. I'm planning on getting theirs since I think my truck's too noisy

I got the last one out of Milwaukee! Had to pay$79. By the way, you need 12 clips and the hood for my 03 is a different p/n than an 04. 5 so I may have to drill.

As a side note, I asked the parts guy about the chrome body side moldings and he said it just came out as a kit for $129.

I called in my order today--parts guy said there was only one in the country, and it was in Idaho! Had no idea how many clips were needed, so I said order a dozen, and I'll figure it out once I see the blanket (thanks, Scotty, you make me look psychic).

I am waiting for them to make more you guys bought up the entire stock... . bummer... ... . Did get to check out the 600 and the viper truck nice truck 154mph top end dang hate to see that insurance bill.

Cool gauge cluster I wonder if it would fit mine ... . hmmmm... ... ... ...

Maybe I am missing something here. As quiet as these trucks are, why would you want to put a sound deadner pad on the hood? For that matter why does the factory do this? Would it be more to protect the hood from heat. Seems DC is a bit obsessed with the engine cooling on the 600. Or have they be putting pads on since last September when the 04s came out? Just a thought.

i am pretty sure i don't have hood insulation on mine... [too early in the am to remember]

I installed the "silencer" today. It does seem to knock down a lot of the higher frequency noise from under the hood.

As a side note, the parts guy told me hood pads are designed to melt and smother a fire should it occur. Pretty bizarre eh?

How long did it take to install?

Did you have to drill?

1) - 5 minutes

2) nope, all puch-pin securing

I have mine on, but it helped a little on the tick-tick-tick from the injector, But turbo whine is down :(

Mine was built in October 03, and doesn't have it. 04 model year. Guess I'll get one, since I am upgrading the sound system.

Installed my hoodpad today. had to stand back and think "it can't be that simple to install". Took about 5 minutes. Part took 5 days to get from Milwaukee.
