Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Under the truck

I'll be spending some time under the truck this weekend installing my new Rip's 4" exhaust. Oo. While I'm down there, I need to hook up my transmission temp gauge. I want to put it on the hose going to the cooler. What is the best place and best method? Anything else I should check while I'm under there? Thanks for the help!

A '95 front cooler line has a port in it that works fine for a temp gauge sensor.
