As much as I love adding tons of power & torque to my CTD, I would love to have one that is a super fuel miser, and lower powered version. I bet all of the drivetrain and internals will last twice as long. These Diesels must be super clean to run underground.

Sorry for being ignorant, but what are "driveshaft" safety hoops? I've never heard of or seen such a part? What does it protect? and why wouldn't it be standard?

Safety hoops are placed in strategic locations along the drive shaft so that if you blow a u-joint, the now loose driveshaft will not pole-vault the vehicle or come flying out broadside. In NY and other states, school buses are required to have them as well.

the underground Dodge Ram can be upfitted with protection systems, including automatic fire suppression, wire shielding, marine grade fuel lines and thermal trip wires. Dual circuit breakers in the starting circuit, skid plates and driveshaft loops
