Yes, I've seen V-Man's thread on the Hadleys he's mounting, but his question is about restoring the headliner so it doesn't droop like a GM headliner after taking it partly down...
MY QUESTION is : Anybody got a set of dual Grovers mounted under the hood or frame? My Grover kit is here #ad
and I'm ready to hook it up, but need ideas on where to put the horns, tank, and compressor... . I ain't drillin' no holes in my roof, so ya'all forget that one...

I have the Grover horns mounted under the truck mounted just behind the radiator. Crawl under your truck and look up. In the center of the cross member just behind the radiator you will see a hole. (this is the hollow square tube) Use that hole as the center for the horn base and mount the horns facing left or right. I mounted the air tank infront of the wheel well and behind the bumper. It's attached to the diagonal bracket that goes to the front corner of the bumper. I also zip tied the realy there too. The OEM horn wire will just reach the relay wires in this location. The compressor is mounted where my air box used to be (using scotty air now). it will stay dry and kinda clean in that spot.

Hope this help
later Mike

B. H. ,

I'm with Mike on this one. I've had my Grover 1601's for a month now and will have time to install in about a week. The tank will easily fit behind either end of the front bumper of a non-sport Ram-don't know about yours. The horns can be mounted high enough on the front frame crossmember of a 4X4 to be out of harms way.
I'll be mounting the compressor under the driver-side battery box. It provides the required horizontal surface and will allow access to the oil fill plug that Grover suggests you check every few months.

This kinda fits in with this thread. I want to get air horns eventually for my truck, but I think that since I have an air source, why can't I have enough to run an impact wrench instead of using the squirly tire wrench that comes with the truck to change a flat? Who makes a compressor that has enough output to run an impact wrench, but is small enough to fin under the hood? I design pneumatic/hydraulic machinery for a living so I am going to use my own components to do the plumbing.

I have the same situation. I saw two air horn installations at the San Jose RAM Runners meeting last night. They both mounted them on the cross bar right behind the front bumper with the air tank behind the bumper on the driver's side. On one of the trucks, the compressor was mounted on a aluminum, plate that was added at the bottom the batter on the passenger side. I plan to install mine in the same way.

Good luck and let us know how you installation went.

I'm hooked ... I was hoping to see the Grover install on the Taz site ... but I couldn't find the pics! Does anyone have any sound clips?

Grover vs Hadley ... what is better? Please e-mail me with the best deal you've found.

What about air capacity for long term blasts?

Jwgary,
Check with TST Products, I noticed a few weeks ago that they sell an air compressor that mounts to the engine. I think it's a Cummins part. It should be rated for continious duty. To run an air wrench you will need a much larger air tank then you get with the horns.
I have an air chuck with a 50' coiled air hose hooked to the tank you get with the Grover horn kit. The tank and compressor are both way too small. I would take 15 minutes just to fill the tire with air. Although it's nice to have.

After many months of promising "horn information soon" the Grover Products Company website finally has some horn information. The link below will direct you to a week old page that will take you to six or seven other pages. The linked page continues to evolve and some of the pages are incomplete, but should give an idea of the depth of the Grover line. They manufacture more horns than are listed or illustrated on their site.

I was looking under the hood of my 99, 4x4 for a location to mount some Hadleys. I don't know for sure but it looked like a guy might be able to mount them to the underside of the hood on the passenger side. Has anyone considered this location? Will this location work?

, Amsoil throughout,

Things to come;
285/75R16 next month, SPA Pyro and Boost gauge with pillar mount (July or August), 4" exhaust(August or September), DDIII and Hadley Air horns (Christmas presents if not sooner) Scotty Air cleaner. Then if Power Edge has come out with the VA equilvant should really round out the package.
