2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Underhood insulation

I am wondering if anyone knows if there were any years on the 2nd generation trucks that had the under hood insulation. If so, what year(s) would it have been and if they made any, any idea what the part number from mopar would be?



Also, are there any aftermarket kits available for this?

My '01 had it, the '02 doesn't.

my 2000 has it but is falling off. any body think it would be a problem just to take it off, will the heat from the motor affect the paint?

Only '02's - '04's dont' have it. The '04. 5 should have it.



My '98 has it, but I'm about to yank it out,, all it does is rub my Valve cover anyway.



I don't there wil be a problem, since '02's and '03's don't even come with the insulation.

Blue-Beast, my 02 doesn't have it, and there have been no problems with the heat at all. No paint comin' off or anything of that nature. James

Does it make much difference in outside engine noise?

I would like too make mine alittle more quite (or shall I

say less noisey). Would it be worth it too put one in?
