I have a buddy that just bought a new Chevy that has 245 75 16 tires on that he just took off for bigger meats. They are brand new (60 miles), and he is letting me have them for $100. 00 for all four with Chevy aluminum rims. I have 265's stock and was wondering if a smaller tire would have any pitfalls for towing. The tires are E rated, and does anyone know how much it costs to have the speedo recalibrated at Dodge?

Don't know how many others, but mine came stock with 245's. I have a friend with a '00 and his came with the 265's. I guess as long as the load rating is high enough for the truck, the only thing you would have to consider would be the rpm's.

mine came with 245's also. I dont know if they would be too good with 4. 10 gears. I went to 285's, didnt like that, went to 265's and am quite pleased

Mine came from the factory with 245's and 4. 10 gears. I am much happier with 285's and plan to go larger next time.

Mine came stock with 245's. While I would like the look of a taller tire, the gearing (3. 54) is just right for my needs as is.

I normally run 305/70/16 (about 32") and during hunting season I go to 35x12. 50x16. 5 on another set of rims. I get between 18-19 mpg around town depending on how I drive and the truck does fine with the 3:54's. Have recently added a few BOMBS and mileage has dropped some I think.
