Much of the discussion at the beginning of this thread was based on that pdf file from Cummins.



There are differences, though, and things that do-not-apply to our pick-ups("dosing injector" for example).



The entire thread is worth reading, judging from responses.

if you buy it drive it hard and or tow and your going to be ok. driving to the store 3 miles away and work 8 miles away and well your going to be in active regen all the time. Enjoy

How to know if your truck is in regen mode?

Excellent thread. Good intelligent information and discussion.



Let me dumb it down some. I've got 5000 miles on my 6. 7. Been through one reflash due to CEL. Running pretty well nowadays, although the tail pipe and fender are real sooty.



Q: How does one know when the truck is in regen mode. I can't say I've ever noticed anything that would tell me the system is in regen.



Never receive any messages on the display. Sometimes when the truck is idling, the sound changes and sounds like it's running in a bucket or something. (sounds kind of muffled temporarily)



Appreciate any hints that would let me know when regen is happening. Heaven forbid I read the manual carefully.
