Screww fuel preporator I will be taking mine off and putting the FASS back on. BTW I have had all three prep, fass and air dog. The air dog and preporator are gone. I called them to day due to my truck being down with clogged filter and asked if there was a cross over # for a filter I could buy local today right now. I was told NOPE cant give you a cross over number you have to buy the filter through us. I am unhappy with them. Fass would not have done this. **** ekstam and the preporator air dog... ... .....

Fuel Preporator and air dog are from same co. but different units. Why would you want these from a Co that has this bad of Cus serv. screww them. After buying two units from them and all I wanted was a cross # for a filter I could get today NOW... .

Actually, they are good. Both check up on the website and I've called Cummins and have gotten prices on the FF5617.

As for the AirDog, Ekstam has been sold and I'm not even sure that they're making the AirDog units right now. I've heard how unhelpful the new customer service is.

I was uneasy about installing my AirDog when I heard about all the changes but after someone posted the new filter numbers I'm not going to worry about it. I've been meaning to order a case and after that, I'm just gonna forget it.

BTW, it's usually a good idea to have an extra fuel filter on hand for whatever type of fuel system you're running. You should have done your homework in the beginning and you would have known that up until recently, the only way to get a replacement filter was through Ekstam.

Those fleetguard #'s are not good.

????? hmmmmm  They are good for the airdog, maybe not the preporator. I have not seen a preporator to see if there is any difference.

I don't know what "preporator" he's talking about, but if it's the 135A for big trucks then of course those part numbers aren't going to work. The 135A uses much larger filters. I've never heard of anyone using one of those on pickups, although they're supposed to have the same motor on them from what I understand.

??

What do you mean you havent heard of anyone using a 135a on a truck?????????????????

Thats the first unit that ekstam marketed for trucks and its basically the same as the fass. Many have been sold and have been installed on Pick ups. the air dog came later. I also know about having an extra filter im not stupid, had one and it got used. now that im in a bind the jerks at ekstam leave me hanging.

As far as the fleetguard ##'s I was assuming that they were for the fuel preporator. Thats what I said I had and was asking about. Those #'s were not found by two parts houses and the fleet filter .com people.

So you have a clogged filter? And Ekstam won't send you any filters? I haven't had any problems with mine. And the other guys I know runnin the AirDog haven't had any problems.

Never said they would not send me a filter. I said I had a truck down with a clogged filter, I dont know maybe bad load of fuel. I called and asked if there was a cross over # for another brand filter so I could get one NOW. I was told by the rude female receptionist. Nope got to get it here.
