Well, I sent an email to DC to ask aboutinstalling a safari hatch per my earlier post. You can see their reply and my original message (slightly edited) below. And to think I was originally concerned about taking my truck to Africa where there'd be no DC or dealer support... On the positive side, the local Cummins dealer is genuinely excited about seeing the truck arrive. He says he hasn't seen a Dodge ISB but he and his techs will be happy to help out anyway. Much more helpful than DC and the US dealer were.

Dear Donald,
Thank you for e-mailing DaimlerChrysler.

I am unaware of what a safari hatch is. If you have any questions regarding
changes you would like to make, I suggest you speak with your local
DaimlerChrysler dealership. Please keep in mind, DaimlerChrysler does not
recommend altering your vehicle from its original manufacturer's specifications.

Again, thank you for writing.

Brief Description:
------------------
I wish to install a safari hatch in the roof of my 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4
quadcab. Will this unacceptably compromise body rigidity?
Comments:
---------
hatch would be more or less like a sunroof. Size could be varied to allow
avoidance of stiffeners.
