Every FRIGGING year at the office its the same s---: they come around and start the "charity" drives... ... and every time its some idiot liberal that is pushing the "United Way". Well, screw the United Way..... they are nothing but a racist organization themselves. We (at the office) have a choice of like over a hundred organizations to give to..... and most of us who are just SICK of the crap like the "United Way" is pulling on the BSA contribute to things like the American Cancer Society, etc. , for a real charity. HOWEVER, hehehehe I actually read the pamphlet further, and now I also contribute to FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform), and DUCKS UNLIMITED. DU even sends out a top quality magazine to contributors. Better that than throwing good money after bad with the United Way.

He**, I stopped giving to United way about 10 or 12 years ago. Too much of the donations was going for"overhead" and was not getting to where it was intended to go. If I was still giving to them, I would stop after reading that attachment.

It's to bad that some people feel their way is the ONLY way and want every one to live or accept that life style. As an Eagle scout for many years, it really gets my dander up when this stuff happens. If some one doesn't like a particular club then they don't need to join and if the people in that club... ... oh hell now I'm going of on a different tangent. Think I'll just quit before I say something I shouldn't.

Anyway, it's too bad that the BSA has had to suffer this and I hope they can ride it out.

I also stopped giving to the united way years ago with a couple of exceptions. My wife's office wanted 100% participation so we gave $1 so that we didn't pay a personal price for not participating. I give to the Salvation Army now - nearly 100% of the money given to them gets to the people. In our area the united way takes 60% of the money for administrative costs!

hey Steve can you fix the spelling on the title. . OOPS

How would you like to have 220 employees and be expected to administer a 100% fund raising drive... oh the game of politics in management. . real delima sometimes. .

Sorry - no way for me to edit the title. No thanks on administering that nightmare! That's the reason we donated the $1 - so we didn't have to deal with the politics. I did however let her boss know that I didn't like giving to the United Way.

It's not surprising that the United Way of Mass. has stopped funding the BSA. That's the state that has elected and reelected Barney F*g to Congress in spite of his live-in boyfriend running a male prostitute ring out of B. F. 's Washington D. C. flophouse. It makes me sick just to see that f*g on TV spouting his liberal nonsense.

I never understood national giving when people within a 10 mile circle of your home good use help.
Check out yourlocal churches, Lion's club etc. Ask them upfront what percentage goes to the Lincolns and Cadillacs the Presidents drive and what goes to the needy.

Charity is a big business. Sad, but true.
My favorite way to give?
Blasting pest deer and calling the Game Commission. They are SUPPOSED to give the meat to familys that need it.
