Universal Joint Grease

Had to replace the universal joints on the front axels (2009, 48K miles) and drivers side was long gone, passenger bad shape. They were replaced with U-joints with grease fittings. The question is how often?. Type of Grease? This is a daily drive, NE about 23K per year.

I'd make sure they get greased every time you change the oil. If you're running extended oil change intervals, do it with every tire rotation (5-7. 5k). Same with your front driveshaft u-joint.

When I bought my own grease, I usually got Valvoline multi-purpose grease from Schucks (now Oreilly's). Either the synthetic or synthetic blend would be fine.

be grateful for grease fittings! have to use the needle adaptor, jack up drivers side wheel on my '08, only grease it a couple times a year though. total pita.

Probably the best grease I've seen that won't washout with water/road salt is schaeffers moly black. Anthony

best u-joint grease i've seen,Mantek elite red. was purchased specifily for u-joints on city buses,

pretty dirty stressful enviorment under a bus.
