unsteady Tachometer

Tachometer not reading properly jumps around then is steady, cruise control not working. Looking for some help, thank you.

I'd clean and reinstll the ESS sensor plug. If that doesn't fix it the ESS has probably died.

In addition there is a ground on the top of the block you might want to check for tightness and corrosion.

This can be from the alternator going bad.

While checking the ESS plug, check the wires to the plug. As they come over the edge of the head, there is a chance for them to rub through due to vibration.
