Unusual Turbo Noise

The truck is a stock 03 with about 150,000 miles. It was parked one day and the turbo sounded fine; the next day when it was ran it didn't. At about 2K rpm it starts sounding like a jet engine taking off is the way I heard it described. There is no difference in the performance though. He looked under the hood for anything noticable but everything looks fine. Any advice?

Check your inner cooler hoses for a tear, expecially the one off the turbo.
