Need some impute. Got the Juice with att. siting on the bench. Going to order the H&S Turbo 4" back Tues. and made the block of plats for EGR to day . Anyone running this and what can I expect for fuel miles. Not looking for power, just better miles and no heat. I am in the grass and desert and do not need a big fire and a new pickup sitting on top of it. Would just make my day. With know regen the exost should not get hot enught to light things of. How much will my EGRs drop. Any thing I have forgot.

Any ideas out there. By the way,H&S said do not by the DPS delete kit just yet if you have the X update in your comp, it will still try to regen. They will have this fixed in a week to week 1/2 and all will be well.

Thanks

Make sure you are ready to take over the burden of warranty repairs if you go that route. Dodge will not step up once you have followed that path;)

So far so good... Egts are down by about 250-300. Mileage is still a little low but the motor has less than 3k...

This may be interesting to some of you as well. Keep in mind that I have the edge juice w/attitude, a cold air intake and less than 3k so I know the engine isn't broken in... Now keep in mind that at the beginning of this tank of fuel the overhead was showing between 6-8mpg and was steadily getting worse as compared to the previous tank of fuel, so I knew that the system was starting to build back pressure. I was out running some errands and I get the cat 80% full message on the overhead... Drive some more and get the cat full message see owners manual So it goes into regen and I drive the **** out it, overhead goes back to 80%. I pulled into my driveway and noticed I had a package from the ups guy...

I do believe the edge juice was pushing more fuel/particulates through the emission system was designed to handle.

Did you not do the DPF delete?
Ok, I have done it all, basically my truck is emissionless. No Dpf, Cats, Egr or Pcv. The DPF delete, got me about the same fuel economy as the EGR block. Both together got me about 3 MPG on the hwy. PCV Vent just got me a clean intake system, but around town I still see pretty low economy, usually around 11. Guess this is still alot better than 13 on the hwy. EGTs are definitely down.
There are some tricks to blocking the EGR, but well worthi it in my opinion. As far as warranty goes. I think a dealer would be hard pressed to prove that no emission control stuff would be bad for the engine. The Juice might be another issue, but deleting the dpf is an EPA issue, not a dealer one.
My 2 cents.

Looking at the economy and Dodges truck sales, I wouldn't bet on it. ;)

Well ok, I give you that. They can and will use anything they can get to void a warranty. But one can only hope that someone has some sense, can't we????:{

There has been a directive sent out,do not work on modified 6. 7s till contacting the DM... ... ... ... ... ... .....

Harlan

I have over 500 hours of chassis dyno time testing fuel systems... mostly on gas engines..... working with a mechanical engineer... and for what its worth I don't think there is a thing we as owners can do to make more than 1-2% difference... . the real changes come with air resistance..... vehicle speed, weight and acceleration...

I was taught that wind resistance at 75 mph is 4 times higher than that at 55 mph... . and testing cars found it took almost 2x's the HP to maintain 75 mph over 55 mph...

We were measuring fuel flow to the injection system while driving the car on the dyno through a computer course of level road, hills, and down hill... . watching the fuel graph and what we could do to improve it... .

It's my personal belief that the engineers give us the best they can in mpg based on the compromise of variables that the other engineers supply to them. . also remember that C. A. F. E. plays a huge role... and if the engineers could build in a better mpg rating and reduce their fines for CAFE they'd do it... . and most of the time when we change things we might affect one rpm range but usually screw up more than we solve...

Yes I have done the egr delete as well. :)

Well we will see. I will keep you in formed as I go. Its do some changing or I will have an 07 for sale sone. Then I will go back to old styal and hop it up. Wish I still had my 02 ,It wood pull and still get good MPG.

Thanks For come back
