Can I get an update from "the patriot" on his BHAF and how he likes it and can someone let me know if the guards are still being made for up against the exhaust. I forget which member is making them. And how about a quality place to order the BHAF that is reasonable in $. THANKS (part number is 1191 right??) THANKS

RedNuts98,

BHAF: Fleetguard P/N: AH19037

MHAF: Fleetguard P/N: AH1141 (smaller diameter and shorter)

I sent you a PM for purchasing either.

I think the part# is AF 19037. I got mine locally for about $55. 00. (was quoted $48. 00, then when it came in I was told there was shipping charges too:mad: )

I'm not really BOMBED. All I have is injectors.

It might have lowered my EGT's a little, but I'm not really making that much power. About 260 HP.

I forget who is making the guards. Malloy? Mallory? Something like that. I dont believe he's doing it anymore. If he is, please let me know.

Someone else was making a cover that goes over the turbo. I totally forget his name.

The filter is really BIG!! I dont think I'll need an air filter for at least a few years.

My problem was, when I put in the injectors, and adjusted the boost rod, I got 60% used on my filterminder. Before the mods, it was virtually a new filter. Guess going from 28 to 38 PSI boost will do that. :D

Sorry I couldnt be more help.

Eric

PS Someone had one that was used slightly. I could go through my PM's this weekend, and let you know who it is, if youre interested?

Big Daddy, Thanks for the info

Patriot, you have the filter that is enclosed right??? I thought yours was a good idea but did not seem to get much response as did the BHAF.

No. Mine is the opened filter. I posted the part #, but I dont have it here, I'm at work. Might not have it at home either.

If you do a search, I'm sure you'll find it.

The BHAF with a housing on it might not even fit, might be better off to find a MHAF with housing.

I wrote down the dimensions that the parts dude gave me, and I seem to recall thinkint to myself, that it was the dimensions of the filter. The housing on the BHAF HAS TO be bigger than the filter itself? And if it is, it probibally wont fit under the hood.

Eric

ok, I remember you were thinking about a enclosed BHAF a while back . You went with just a standard BHAF. Just checking. Any water problems so far with it and any problems with the factory airbox bolts

No water problems yet, and I've been through some deep stuff at 40-45 MPH speeds. Not on purpose.

Sorry Larry, I didnt remember your name. I plan on getting one of those soon. :D

Eric

Link

RedNuts98: Are you on AOL? My dad said the link did not work from AOL. I Have tried it from several computer at work. None of them have had a problem with it.

Water and the BHAF: I have major dried mud and road spray on my heat shield. It not for the heat sheild it would have all gone on the filter.

I have not made any mounts since the blueprint was posted here. Search bhaf mount drawing it should come up. I did notice that my filter got damp from the pressure washing I was giving the truck. I plan on putting a gasket in place between the hood and fender to seal that area, in the future. brian mallory

I tried searching the mount drawing but had no luck aside from seeing images of Mallory's and the other shield posted in this thread. Can anyone give a link to the thread with drawing or re-post it?

Also, even though I'm in an area consiedered to be a trucking hub the local dealers are telling me they cant order the AH19037. I prefer to avoid wix/Napa as one of the threads indicated they had about 2/3 the flow. Can anyone give me a link or phone number to a shop that can mail me a filter at a decent price?

I could not find the print post. The fellow who posted it was scott erin I believe. Scot if you still have the file could you post it ? thanks Brian

Rockcrawler, go to the gray button on the top of the page that says "members". Then go to "advanced search" Type in "patriot". Theres only two, and I'm one of em!:D

Oh yea, it was the BHAF, not the mount. If it were, Id buy it!!:D

You could either e mail him, or PM him from there.

Mallory, I have it on my desk top, if you could tell me how to post it, I'd be happy to.

EricOo.

PS If any of you cant find one locally, I got mine from Allied diesel in Freehold, NJ. I think the phone # is 732 462 5072?? This was a fleetguard. I remember him saying it had to come in from Phrump, Nevada.

A place called Klein automotive, or Ben Klein auto (I forget) on Rt 1 and Stiles ave in Linden NJ has em for $39. 00. I dont think his was fleetguard. I'm thinking it was a luberfiner??
