I did the rear disk conversion and the replacement front disk with the slotted rotors. I did a recent tire rotation and thought Id post the pictures after 5000 miles. The fronts don't emit the dust as before and the rears look good. The E-brake holds pretty good on most grades, I use the gear anyway to make sure though.

Eric---If you haven't been warned yet--make sure you set the e-brake on a regulrar basis other wise that GM stye rear caliper will give you problems (low pedal & not holding on incline)

I didn't do anything to the port. valve, I just added a little line that comes in the kit to the end of the SS line to the caliper

Sam, I do set the P-brake all the time, I have a 6 speed.

It holds on a 10% grade...

thanks Eric...

I'm just about ready to install the exact same EGR kit as you have.

I just finished painting my new front and rear calipers two days ago...

shouldn't be long now before I install my new SSD brakes! :D

Make sure you get the spacer EGR said for the rear hubs otherwise you will have to ream out the center opening on the rims.

Did you have any trouble getting the rotors to fit on the rear of the hubs? or was yours a dana 70?

Thanks for the heads-up Eric. I received the billet aluminum CNCed spacers with the last box I received from EGR. In fact, Glenn held up shipment of the last part of my order to incorporate the new spacers as soon as they had arrived to him.

I'm Feeling Better About My Decision

Hello all!

I just purchased the complete EGR system:

Front - Blueprinted Calipers, Slotted Rotors, Carbon/Kevlar Pads, Kevlar/SS Lines

Rear - Caliper Conversion, Kevlar/SS Lines

After reading Eric's original post, I began to wonder if I made the right decision. Primarily... . the use of Delco calipers on the rear.

Eric... . sounds like your the brake conversion is working well on your rig (parking brake marginal?). I'm still on the fence if I made the right decision... Are you totally satisfied thus far?

John... I shot you a couple PM's earlier this morning. What are your opinions?

I had someone locally (NY) turn me off the EGR set-up and wanted to sell me his own pre-fabed conversion using Wilwood calipers. I decided to go with the EGR set-up due to the price delta and customer service reports of EGR by the EarthRoamer and other TDR members.

Thanks!

Everything is working very well. there is a trick with the E-brake, just push hard with your regular pedal, then set the brake. It holds better.

Had 2 wave runners on a steep boat ramp, in water, and it still held!!

Had to do a panic stop recently and the pedal felt good and the rear locked up slightly but the front kevlar pads worked very well.

My truck weighs 8000 lbs.

I am very satisfied with my brakes, so get it and have fun!! haha
