Prodigy wiring on basic model truck

Starting small in the RV world...

Bug Out

For those of you that read the first part of what was going on, early on, it gets worse,.

The unit was in the shop for a combined total of 4 1/2 months out of the first 5 1/2 I owned it and I found more structural damage. A Roof plywood panel is unfastened under the rubber roof. ( Major repairs to fix)

They( Forest River) will tow it back to the factory in Rialto, Ca and attempt a "re-roof" job and thats it. At this point, I was hoping they would swap this mess of repaired trailer out... No such luck.

My question is to all of you, would you be willing to cut and paste copies of the letters I send to Forest River on to other RV and truck related bulletin boards/ discussion forums?

There are many of you spread all across the U. S. A. on many different boards one person could never find.

If after I send the letters and if its a un-favorable response, I'll be sending copies via mail to all RV manufactures, RV ins companies, extended warranty companies and RV saftey institutes etc.

For those of you that are interested, I will be sending a letter of concern to Forest River about their first batch of repairs that ended with crossed wires, holes drilled in my kitchen roof etc.

I will also be sending, for what its worth, a letter to Pete Liegl who is still CEO of Forest River but sold out to Warren Buffet and "Berkshire Hathaway"

Anyone who has had a "lemon law" applied to their Rv please let me know what the proceedure is.

Any suggestions? ( Besides parking this thing on RailRoad tracks!!!)?

Thanks for all you help .

Lemon laws vary from state to state... . you need to run Lemon laws in google and you'll get some good information..... I didn't read your other post... but it sounds like your ready for a lawyer... .

We have a Forest River Wildcat that's been pretty good so far. It's a 2005 with about 4000 or 5000 miles on it.

That being said, using "RV" and "quality" in the same sentence is like saying "honest" and "politician" in the same sentence! I can't believe that dealers can stay in business with the crap that they get from the manufacturers. I've read, more than once, that someone's trailer is great, except for the normal problems. Problems shouldn't be normal! Poor build quality (screws to nowhere, glueless wallpaper, poor fitting doors) should be simple fixes in the factory. I don't know what is so hard about getting it right the first time. I'd pay more, within reason, for quality work.

I guess we are our own warranty station with the trucks and our own quality control with our RV's. :{

Man sorry to hear about your issues. Our first rig was an 04 Wildcat 28RK. With the exception of a failed rangetop vent fan, we had 21 trouble free years, thank god... . We just traded it for an 07 Keystone Raptor 299MP... Hope we have the same luck...

They are to pick it up this thursday, Feb 1 07

I hope all of you never have to go thru this BS. I'm contemplating small claims court if they do not put on the "extras" while at the factory being repaired that he said he would.

I even put in my letter to them that I wouldn't even sell this POS to my ex-wife, much less anyone else.

I'm out a lot of $ from payments on it and covered storage, which I thought it would be worth when i first got it. I have since tried to get open storage, but snow birds have it locked up till march or so.

With any luck, I'm praying to the train Gods to take this RV out of its misery when the transport driver is crossing tracks somewhere between here and Rialto,Ca. ( Driver unscathed of course)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. . LOL

Try a letter of your ordeal in detail to Trailer Life Magazine. They have a column that deals with the manufacturer/dealer complaints from a customer. In alot of cases, they can get the manufacturer/dealer to "make it right" with the customer to avoid getting a bad rap in print from the magazine for all to see.

If you subscribe to TL you will see that they can get results. Sounds like your experience is worth writing to them about. Problem is that is sounds like Forest River has told you that they will tow it back to the factory and try to fix it. You may have to wait and see what they do before you try some other route (lemon laws, lawyers, etc. ) Good luck...

Supposed to get picked up tomorrow

RJOL, I am hoping that maybe they will do OK repairs. Last time, they crossed wires, drilled holes thru the roof and it was a heck of a mess.

With any luck, This will be the last large repairs this unit has to go thru. I would really like to do some RV'ing, even short out of town trips, but we will see.

Thanks for the input and I'll post what happens later.
