Just got the parts in and thought you'd like to take a look at what is in the G56 transmission for clutch parts. I was able to get the flywheel, clutch disc and hydraulic assembly at this time. All the other parts (pressure plate, throwout bearing & clutch fork) are on order but I have not been able to get them yet. As soon as they become available I will have them in my hands.

I've been asked by the TDR to do a complete layout for the magazine in one of the upcoming issues so I did not go into detail about the parts.

One thing I did notice, of all the different designs of dual mass flywheels, this one, from first appearance, looks pretty stout. I will know more after I tear into it.

Peter

Can you bring/ship that stuff to May Madness? "Inquiring minds want to know" :D

Blair's margaritas are awaiting, in M3 (May Madness Margaritaville)

That "thing" you were pointing at and didn't know what it was takes pulsation out of the clutch pedal in the hydralic system. My son had one added on a TSB for his chevy. Definitly removed the pulsation in the pedal.

Thanks Peter... Us guys with G-56's and DMF's will be watching your post with a lot of interest. At least if it turns out to be a dog, we will know that you're on it and we can fix the problem... :D

Difference

Hi Peter,

Can you explain the differences between the NV5600 and G56 Duel mass clutch for all those that dont know? Maybe a picture or two. I hope to see you at Piers again this year, I had a good time talking with you. Thanks, Sam.

Well... we believe we already have a solid flywheel conversion right in front of us.

We need a guinea pig :D :D :D :D :D !!!!!!!!!!

Anyone willing to pull there clutch yet?

The good points...

1. I will pay for everything (removal & install, car rental, shipping)

2. Free clutch

3. Being "THE" pioneer

The bad points...

1. Being without your truck for about a week

2. It may not work

3. Can't think of anything else :-laf

Who has got the guts and trusts us to make it right if there is ANY problems?

Peter

I think i will stick with my Iron giant. Speaking of iron giant, how streetable of a clutch is the Iron Giant Clutch for the nv5600? also do you have the slave cyl retrofit kit out for the 3rd gens?

Thanks

Dave

I've driven and Iron Giant in a 5spd... ... its just like my 3850 "street puller" until you have to sit there and "HOLD" the pedal in for a while. I'll stick to my street puller for daily driving. ;)

Definately upgrade the slave cylinder. It WILL fail. Ask JWilliams3 :p

Just got off the phone with Peter at South Bend Clutch. He is aware of the G-56 hold by Chrysler, and needs someone, with a 2005 G-56 setup "in hand", to volunteer as a test setup to see if his fix for this transmission/flywheel will work. Call him at: 1-800-988-4345. He is pretty sure he can fix, whatever the problems may be, but can't tell unless he is able to get his hands on one. Us guys with CTD G-56's on hold would like to know if this problem is fixable... :)

I'll se what the dealer says LOL. seriously though, after a THOUROUGH sp? test beating I think the trans is the best driver out of any in the pickup crowd. gears feel wide, shifts like a dream, and now I see that Peter is getting rid of the DMF and putting in a "proper" clutch I wouldn't have any worries. my . 02
