UPDATE on trucks "Shipped to Storage"

Hey Guys,



I just talked to my guy at my local dealer where I ordered my truck from. I know that the dealer rep was there yesterday and they got a chance to talk. What the Dealer rep is telling the dealers is that all the trucks are getting shipped to storage for a second inspection. I think that this really means that they don't want to release the regular trucks in the 6. 7 configuration. He didn't really want to say exactly but he thought I would have to wait until what sounds like the middle of next month before they will start shipping. Never the less we all don't have our trucks and we want them NOW!!! As always take this with a grain of salt as it came from a dealer so you know it is not the exact truth.

I would think that if people's trucks are being held up for delivery for some time, that they should threaten to cancel the order due to excessive delays and threaten to sue in small claims court for any deposit money that is not returned. And then contact the local news paper's consumer afairs reporter (they love stories where the big company is trying to shaft the little guy).



I figure if a few hundred or even a couple of thousand people threaten cancelation, the trucks would be on the lots the next day.

Maybe its an additional quality control inspection. DC may just want to make sure they don't have any surprises. I dunno.

The reason the the 6. 7 are being held up is because DC hand to change the EGR value on the auto's and have been waiting for parts. As of today about 80% of our orders on the 6. 7 have been released to be shipped today and are being loaded on rail cars. Thought i would pass this info on to the members.

I cant wate I sold my 99 one on the 21 of Feb. and need it for work. So I have been driving a caravan that the dealer gave me till my new 2500 mega cab Laramie gets here. This is the beast news I have herd all week.

I got a fax from the dealer tonight which was entitled "Vehicle Status and Information". It listed all the truck information like VIN # and VON # and had a daily status of when the truck was scheduled for build (1-3-07) and when it was shipped to storage, 2-2-07. For the whole month of February it lists "Carrier Can Put On Hold", then as of March 1st it says plant release and load on railcar. It is supposed to hit Laredo Texas on the 4th of March and Mira Loma, California (distribution center) on the 11th, then arrive at the dealer by 3-20-07. Seems like a pretty useful form.
