My dads new '04 that was shipped in a week b4 thanksgiving had the dreaded vibration problem around 2k rpms. It felt to me like the truck had mudder style tires on it when speeds where above 70 mph I could even feel it sitting in the passenger seat, it was definatly annoying, and something after spending 30+k on a new truck that I could not have lived with. I warned my dad when he took the truck in that a fix could be hard for them to come up with and there where known problems with this. Well the dealer replaced the front drive shaft and did a 4 wheel alignment, not sure why that would make a difference but that is what they said they did, the problem is now gone, the guys at the dealership made a comment that about 1 in 10 trucks are having this problem, just thought you guys would like to know

That is really odd that they would do a wheel alignment for replacing a drive shaft. Unless they noticed that the alignment was off. Reguardless, a driveshaft out of balance can cause vibs are certain speeds.
