Updates from those running Alex Peper OBDII

I think I'm going to buy this software and run it on my old 486 laptop (which is just gathering dust). I'd like to use it as a virtual dashboard and do data logging on long trips.



A search turned up lots of info on it here. Could those who have been using the software for awhile chime in on their impressions?



Will a 486 be fast enough to record/display data in real time?

Is the 03 a OBD II system???



I read the other posts and did not find any 03 users.

I have it and none of the virtail dash stuff works on the cummins. Unless I was just updated. It only work to clear codes.

OBD II is mandated on all vehicles beginning in 1996. You have an OBD II connection under your steering wheel, just to the left.

I have found most of the virtual dash stuff DOES work. I got my software several months ago.



I have not figured out how to clear codes though !

Yeah, the documentation leaves a little to be desired.
