so i only have 21000 ish on my truck now, but i hear you get better power and economy from a better lift pump like a FASS or Airdog etc... . my question is, should i? how long do the stock ones last? and for you guys that have added a FASS etc, do you keep the stock filter houseing on? if not, what about the water in fuel light? i see someone makes a cool delete kit for the filter housing, any one use that as well? so i had more then one question... thanks guys.

P. S. would i see any more power, being that i dont have bigger injectors etc??

I have 108k on the intank pump and no problems. The FASS and AD are supposed to help clean up the fuel stream and make it more efficient. Still dealing with an electric pump and they can have problems also.

If you delete the stock housing you loose the WIF sensor and fuel heater. What can you live with is the question. IMO, leave the stock stuff and add a 2 micron filter between strock housing and CP-3 and you have a much better system. Depends on what you want o do.

Most report minimal if any gains from the AD or FASS setup... so it would take a VERY long time to pay off... .

But better filtration is always good for everything. What I did was install an additional fuel/water sep between the LP and OE filter bowl, and then a Cat 2 mic between the OE and the filter bowl. I take full advantage of my OE WIF sensor and fuel heater... .

One thing to note about the AD is that the fuel/water sep they use is not rated near enough to use as a stand alone, i. e. delete the OE setup... Its only rated for 50% free water sep and 0% emulsified water sep... The OEM is rated for 90% and 90%... . just a thought...
