Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Upgrade time

I was wanting to upgrade my truck with the following items: PDR HX40, some stage 2 injectors and a 4 inch exhaust and was wanting to know if you guys thought this would be a good addition to what I already have. I'm wanting more hp but still plan to tow with the truck occasionally. Thanks in advance for your input or suggestions.

Yes its a nice combination.



Should be 425hp easy. You can always dial the COMP down if you need to tow or anything of that nature.

If you are going to do the HX-40 you might as well skip the stage 2 injectors and go right to the DD3's or even supermentals. 3's would be better if you do any thowing though.

I thought about stage 3 injectors, but was worried about too much smoke. I do live in a high altitude location and do tow in the mountains is why I was thinking 2's. But I might be swayed to go with 3's if there was not too much smoke.

I run a Pdr 40 , DDIII's and a Blue chip Fmc Prem with a Va and along with a tight converter (93%) and at sea level on the highway on 63% overfuel She will black cloud and even out to a dark grey fog. arround town with fuel off it smokes a little until boost comes on. But at altitude I would imagine they will smoke more (I can let you know after My trip to Canada with 5 sleds on me thru the Hills)
