I've found a 47RE overdrive transmission, and I would like to finally upgrade the 3-speed automatic I have now.
Will someone who has done this swap, and/or is familiar with the differences associated with the 47RE please give me some advice on this. I know I'll have to shorten the driveshaft a bit most likely, and probably have to get a new starter. .
What about the torque converter and flexplate? Linkage problems?
I think I can get it for less than $1000 and from what I've been told this isn't a bad deal at all for a low milage unit.
