I have a 95 12v I was told I could put a HX40 on my truck. Is this a pretty simple bult on? What turbo does my truck currently have I think it's a HX35 is that correct? I want a turbo that will still spool quikly but more boost. My current turbo only puts out about 39-40 psi with the wastgate disconected and I was told thats all it will put out, any truth to this?

If you do plan to run much more boost, you'll need to install head studs & to be safe oring the heads. Higher boost does not necessarily mean more power. You'll find a properly sized turbo will produce more power at a lower boost that the 40 you're seeing now with the stock turbo. You need to know what power level you want to be at & how you plan to use the power, drags, pulling, or towing.

if you have an early model 95 you have a wh1c. later 95's have an hx35. your boost is to high. 35psi is max. after that the turbo makes hot boost. what horsepower level do you want to be at? that will tell you what turbo you need or want. richard

The HX-40 will bolt up, in place of a HX-35, without an adapter plate. You will need a downpipe for a HX 40 (has a 4" outlet), plus 4" exhaust. You will want a modded HX-40 (from Piers for instance), because a stock HX-40 will be more laggy.

Since the turbo is bigger, the peak boost will be lower, as will the cruise boost level, but will be moving more air. Also, the cruise EGTs will be higher. You'll see about 2psi on the flat cruising empty at 55-65 vs 10psi. Will probably have a 30psi peak.
