I wish to replace universal joints on my '98. 5 4-wheel drive 2500. I installed Banks Power-Pac system and don't think factory U-joints are up to added power. I read an article in a truck magazine about aftermarket, heavy-duty joints but forget company name and no longer have the magazine. Can anyone help?

Believe it or not the joints in our trucks are actualy heavy duty units!

I had to replace every u joint and center bearing in my truck and the guy (Fleetgard) actually had reccomended going with the same joints (Even with the stuff I am running)

If you are going to upgrade, might as well go with Titanium U-Joints. I'm looking for some as I type.

The U-Joints are very strong in your truck. Most sled pullers, and drag racers pushing 500-600 even 700RWHP still use the stock units.

The weak links are the input/output shafts on the transmission, and the yoke/pinion "spyder gears" on/in the rear-end.

If your stock units are giving you problems, they might have been bad from the git-go.

Hope this helps,
