I have done the searchs and read about the fixes for the fuel sender problem, but I was wanting to know if anyone is selling an upgraded fuel sender?(TST, BD, Janetty, etc. )
Or maybe an individual?
I know I would pay so I don't have to take the time to source the parts and do the repair to a brand new sender!
I don't like the idea of having to replace the sender to begin with, much less having to do the repair.
Allways looking for the easy way out #ad

Thanks for letting me vent #ad

I've got an unBOMBed one (my truck's original one) that I could send you, and then the $3 kit from that other guy... then you get a buddy/trusted pit crew to do it/ help you... . some guys also (after so many of us did the 'involved' approach) suggested carrying a rubber mallet and just whopping the bottom of the tank from time to time... I guess the shockwaves thru the fuel jar the sender into the right position, until it acts up again? let me know if you want me to send you my old one to play with... rm

I was about to send you a link for a homegrown fix I saw, then saw that you were not interested in fixing it yourself.

My truck is at the dealer for it's last warranty stop and the gauge is on the list. However, I have no confidence that DC will fix the gauge properly.

FYI: I have found that if I NEVER top off the tank then I rarely have the sender latch up in the 'full' state.

It was foolproof for at least a year, but recently I filled at a truckstop and even following my rule it latched up. I suspect the flow rate of the pump is related to this.

Click here to link to a fellow who will supply a kit with instructions for $3. The fix isn't that difficult, hard part is removing the sender, something that someone will have to do anyways. You could buy the kit then have a mechanic you trust do the modification.

My fuel gauge sender has never given me problems, no matter how I fill the tank. I think it is because the sender knows I have a dump bed and it would be easy to get to. If it was hard for me to reach then it would go bad. LOL.

I went into my closest dealer to see if I could get a bad one to modify. They told me that they send the bad ones back to DC. Got me wondering if that's why there are so many problems with the sender, maybe DC is recycling them back into the new rigs.
